Best Instagram Spots In Mijas Pueblo
If you’re looking for unique and fun spots to take great pictures in Mijas Pueblo, I’ve got you covered. In this guide I’m sharing the best Instagram spots in Mijas Pueblo, Spain.

I visit Mijas Pueblo every year so I keep adding to this list as I discover more cute places for pictures. If you find something you think I need to add to this list, please let me know if the comments at the very end of this article.

Plaza Virgen de la Peña Tree
The Plaza Virgen de la Peña has the biggest and most beautiful tree at the centre of it. It’s a great spot for an Instagram picture.

Plaza Near Ermita Virgen de la Peña
As you walk towards the Ermita Virgen de la Peña you’ll see a beautiful plaza with fountains and trees on either side that create an archway with their branches. If you get there early, you’ll have a better chance of having it to yourself and getting that perfect shot.

Stone Benches Near Ermita Virgen de la Peña
You’ll notice a variety of unique stone benches and chairs around the outside of the chapel and in the plaza. These are great to sit in for an Instagram picture because on one side you see the views of the mountainside and village. On the other side, you can sit in the chairs or benches and see a view of the sea.

Local Shop & Lookout
After you’ve visited the Ermita Virgen de la Peña, I recommend walking over to the lookout area right outside the ceramic/souvenir shop. When I visited last, they even had a straw donkey outside the shop. This is one of the best spots for Instagram pictures in Mijas Pueblo because you can get so many Spanish things in one picture – ceramic pots, unique architecture, the view of the Mediterranean Sea. If you are taking pictures here, I think it’s always courteous to go inside and support the shop.

Chapel Doorways
The Ermita Virgen de la Peña chapel is such a unique spot for pictures. The arched stone doorway and iron doors are what really stand out. There’s always a little water fountain to the left of the doors which is another great spot for a picture.

Flower Pot Wall
When you visit Spain, especially in the smaller white-washed villages, you’ll notice flower pots lining the streets and hanging on the walls. It’s a traditional Spanish decor theme. Mijas Pueblo has an abundance of beautiful flower pot walls that make great backdrops for Instagram pictures.

Information Centre & Lookout
When you first arrive, you’ll see the main tourist information centre. They have a huge lookout but they also have so many opportunities for great pictures. They have the Mijas sign, lots of flower pots on walls, and even a metal donkey for a little more touristy shot. Depending on what you’re looking for, it can be fun.

Lookout Along Fortress Wall
On the walk towards the botanical gardens, there is a lookout point that allows you to enjoy a spectacular view. If heights aren’t your thing, this might not be your favourite spot for a picture.

Archway Around Side Of Church
If you head behind the Church Of Immaculate Conception, you’ll find a brick archway on the outside walls of the church. It was a completely random find but I was happy to discover it. It even has flower pots hanging on the wall next to it which makes for the perfect ‘Spain-themed’ Instagram picture.

Plaza Across From Church
The plaza across from the church called Parque La Muralla is another great spot for Instagram pictures in Mijas Pueblo. It has beautiful mosaic fountains, lots of trees, benches and gorgeous brick walkways. You could spend lots of time getting pictures in different locations within this one park. I’m always surprised when I visit that there aren’t more people here. I don’t know if I just get lucky or if this is normal. Hopefully you’ll have the park to yourself for some great pics!

Mijas Flower Steps
There is a beautiful staircase that features mosaic flowers and the town name. It’s a great spot for an iconic Instagram picture. It can be a little crowded if you don’t go early.

Calle San Sebastián
One of the most popular streets to take pictures on in Mijas Pueblo is Calle San Sebastián. It has blue flower pots hanging on either side of the street and the mountainside as a backdrop.

Calle Calvario
Finding this incredible house (on Calle Calvario just off of Calle Cruz) lined with so many red flower pots was such a great discovery. As you can see, it makes for an amazing Instagram picture spot in Mijas Pueblo.

Spiral Staircase
Right across from the Mijas bullring is this spiral staircase. The stone wall is part of what’s left of the old fortress wall.

Calle Muros
Muros Street is one of the most beautiful streets to stroll and take a great picture. It’s one of my favourites because it’s lined with flower pots and looks out to the sea and village. It’s so beautiful.

La Puente on Calle de Coín
There is a really unique stone bridge on Coín street that makes for a great spot for Instagram pictures in Mijas Pueblo.

As you can see there are so many beautiful views and incredible places for the best Instagram picture spots in Mijas Pueblo. I hope you enjoy exploring Mijas Pueblo as much as I do. For more information, check out my guide for things to do in Mijas Pueblo, Spain.
