Benalmádena, Spain Markets Costa del Sol

There are two main markets in Benalmádena, Spain held on different days – Wednesday and Friday.

Benalmádena Market

Every Wednesday morning, there is a market in the plaza right next to Paloma Park and the Selwo Marina. I highly recommend this market if you truly want a unique local experience in Benalmádena.

The Wednesday market in Benalmádena is definitely more of a flea, vintage, and second-hand market.

It’s a great spot to take in the Spanish culture, people watch and find a great deal. And by find, I mean literally dig through the vendors stuff that they’ve laid out on a blanket.

Yes, you read that right. If I’m being honest, it seems as though some of the vendors simply gathered up everything they don’t want in their basement and put it on a blanket for you to dig through.

That being said, some vendors have more structure to their displays and put more time and effort into it. You just never know what you’re going to find at this Wednesday market in Benalmádena and that’s what makes it so fun to explore.

You definitely need to be in the mood for this kind of shopping and if you love thrifting, you’re going to love this market. There are hundreds of vendors to explore and honestly, even if you don’t buy anything it’s such a fun way to spend your morning.

On my last trip to this market, I ended up finding some original art for 1 Euro that I was completely pumped about.

It definitely is a great experience  if you’re looking for a place where locals and tourists come together.

If the vintage/thrift store vibe of this market isn’t your thing, the market on Friday mornings in Arroyo de la Miel is better suited for you.

Benalmádena Market In Arroyo de la Miel

The Arroyo de la Miel market is on Friday mornings. This market is just as busy as the Wednesday market but it includes higher quality vendors with new products, not second-hand products.

Their products are up on tables rather than scattered on the ground. You can find lots of pottery, leather and cork products, bulk candy, clothing, and more.
