Kenmare, Ireland Local Shops To Visit
Kenmare is one of my favourite towns in Southern Ireland. I had the best experience here and would highly recommend adding this town to your Ireland bucket list. Below I’m sharing some of my favourite Kenmare, Ireland local shops to visit. The entire town is full of unique shops, art galleries, and restaurants but these are a few that I really enjoyed.
Bean & Batch Coffee Shop
Bean & Batch coffee shop in Kenmare is a must-visit if you want the local cafe experience. Whether you’re stopping in for a coffee or delicious and fresh baked goods, they’ve got you covered. They have everything from donuts, cookies, croissants with pistachio icing, coffee, and everything in between.

Once you order inside, they have a cute little window to pick up your order. They open at 7am which is great for early risers. It’s a favourite spot among locals so it’s great for people watching and to get the local experience which is what I’m always searching for.

We were able to walk here from our AirBnb so we stopped in a few times and loved it. They have a few tables inside and plenty of outdoor seating (a few tables out front and a large patio), if the weather allows.
Begley & Bowie
Begley & Bowie is a Kenmare gift shop and art studio mixed in one. If you like happy, colourful vibes, this is the shop for you. The owner designs unique clothing and paints abstract art. It’s a beautiful shop, inside and out. Just look for the pink doors and the pink bench outside and you’ll know you’re in the right place.

Crowley’s Traditional Irish Music
If you’d like to hear from traditional Irish music while you’re in Kenmare (which I highly recommend) head to Crowley’s. It’s one of the best spots to get the full Irish experience. If it seems packed from the door, not to worry, make your way inside and try to find one of the many nooks around every corner. Or head straight to the bar to order a Guinness.

There are places to sit and stand throughout the main floor or around the bar. Even if you can’t see the musicians, you’ll be able to hear the music. Crowley’s is a full of character, nods to years past with its decor, including an old cigarette vending machine, and dark stained wood accents everywhere. It’s a friendly place, full of history, and everyone seems to embrace the people and the experience.
Lily House
If you have a craving for Thai food, we really enjoyed our meal at Lily House in Kenmare. We got lucky with great weather so we were able to sit outside but they have plenty of tables inside.

The food was great and the service was awesome – super friendly and caring. I ordered my usual Pad Thai and really enjoyed it.

Kenmare is such a great spot and I’m so happy we included this in our Ireland trip itinerary. If you’re looking for more recommendations, check out my Ireland travel guides.
